1901년, 빈. 천재 작곡가 구스타프 말러는 ‘가장 아름다운 여인’이라 불리던 알마를 만나

삶 전체가 흔들리는 사랑에 빠진다. 그해 완성된 교향곡 5번 아다지에토는

알마에게 바친 사랑의 편지이자 세상에서 가장 음악적인 고백으로 남았다.

ALMA는 이 낭만적인 순간에서 이름을 빌려왔다. 라틴어로 ‘영혼’을 뜻하는 ALMA처럼,

퍼니처를 풍부하게 사용하고, 핸드메이드 타일의 섬세한 표정과

시간의 흔적이 깃든 빈티지 원목 가구에서 디자인의 영감을 얻었다.

모든 요소는 새것처럼 빛나기보다, 오래된 음악처럼 깊고 부드러운 온기를 지닌다.

로고에 새겨진 Encounter 1901은 말러와 알마의 운명적인 만남의 해를 뜻한다.

1901, Vienna. Gustav Mahler, a composer of rare genius,

meets Alma—hailed as the most beautiful woman of her time—

and falls into a love that shakes his entire being. That same year,

he completes the Adagietto from Symphony No. 5,

a musical love letter devoted to her, remembered as one of the most

poetic confessions ever written in sound.

ALMA takes its name from this romantic moment.
Meaning “soul” in Latin, ALMA aspires to be a place that gently comforts the spirit,

offering sweet desserts and fragrant coffee to those who linger.

The space reinterprets the atmosphere of Vienna in 1901

through a contemporary lens. Antique and vintage European-style

ornaments and furniture are richly layered throughout,

while handcrafted tiles and timeworn vintage wooden pieces serve as key sources of design inspiration.

Rather than shining with newness, each element carries a quiet warmth—deep and tender, like an old piece of music. The words Encounter 1901, inscribed in the logo, mark the year of Mahler and Alma’s fateful meeting.
